♪Suno API Guide

Where to store Suno API audio

The URL is a pickup ticket, not a file. Treat it that way and downloads stop breaking after a day.

What the API actually returns

A completed task gives you a song id and a media URL. The URL is a temporary pickup ticket; asking for a new one is free and does not create another generation. If you persist the URL as a permanent field, the link will eventually fail while the song is still fine.

A storage pipeline that holds up

  1. Download the file as soon as the task is complete.
  2. Compute a checksum and store it with the task id.
  3. Upload to your own bucket (S3, COS, R2) under a deterministic key.
  4. Serve from your storage or a signed URL, not from the temporary provider link.

What not to store

Do not make the provider URL your database primary reference, and do not proxy every playback through the generation API. If files must be private, issue your own signed URLs; re-fetching the provider URL is only for recovery, not for daily delivery.

常见问题 / FAQ

Do media URLs expire?

Yes. Re-fetch a fresh URL when you need the file; it is free and does not regenerate the song.

Do I have to download immediately?

It is the safest default. If you delay, keep the task id and fetch a new URL later.

Can I use S3 or COS?

Yes. Store the object key and metadata; the provider URL is only an input to your storage pipeline.
